Lee arrives in France, set for summit with Macron in Paris

President Lee Jae Myung arrived in Nice, France, on Sunday for a four-day visit that will eventually bring him to Paris for a summit meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. Lee is scheduled to attend the Lumiere Summit on the future of cinema in Saint-Paul-de-Vence on Monday, which he will co-chair alongside Macron. On Tuesday, the Korean president will embark on a two-day state visit to Paris.

Following his arrival, Lee will have a private luncheon with Macron on the same day before proceeding to their summit discussions and a dinner banquet hosted by Macron and his spouse, Brigitte Macron, at the Elysee Palace. On Wednesday, Lee will meet with Yael Braun-Pivet, the speaker of the French National Assembly, and Mathias Cormann, the secretary-general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), before returning home.

This trip to France was at the invitation of Macron, following Macron's visit to Korea in April. The exchange of visits occurs as the two nations commemorate the 140th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.
