Israel prevented many terror threats against Jews abroad over past year, NSC official tells 'Post'

Israeli security agencies thwarted numerous terror plots targeting Jews abroad over the past year, according to a senior National Security Council official. The official stated that Iran has allocated increasing resources to promoting terrorism globally, including through dedicated mechanisms focused on attacks against Israelis and Jews. Both Iran and Hezbollah have suffered significant kinetic damage but have not inflicted equivalent damage on Israel.

Israel is now focusing greater attention on preventing attacks against Israelis and Jews in Africa, where several countries have weaker security mechanisms and parts of the continent host established Islamist infrastructure and foreign elements. Israeli security agencies are maintaining heightened vigilance ahead of the Jewish holiday season, recognizing the historical exploitation of large gatherings and increased Israeli and Jewish community activity during this time.
