EPL: Lampard reveals difference between Coventry facing Arsenal, Man City after defeat

Manchester City are preparing to host newly promoted Coventry City in the third Premier League matchday of the season. Enzo Fernandez, who completed a record-breaking €125 million transfer from Chelsea, has been an integral part of the team's midfield, coming off the bench during Chelsea's 3-2 victory over Fulham.

However, it remains uncertain if the Argentine midfielder will make his debut for City in the upcoming match at the Etihad Stadium.

Enzo Maresca, City's head coach, opted to start Nico O'Reilly in the left deep midfield for the match. However, Maresca is expected to make Fernandez his first-choice player, given their successful collaboration at Chelsea and the significant investment behind him. The substantial €125 million transfer fee paid by City for Fernandez equals the transfer record previously held by Alexander Isak's move to Liverpool.

Maresca firmly believes that Fernandez is the ideal starter for the team, considering his role as a captain and his commitment to the club.

In addition to Fernandez, Ayoub Bouaddi, another summer signing, will join Fernandez on the bench. However, Elliot Anderson will start the game. Maresca made just one change to the lineup from City's 4-1 win against Crystal Palace, bringing in Iliman Ndiaye to replace Phil Foden in the starting lineup. With a staggering €458 million spent during the summer transfer window, City's new coach has high expectations for the upcoming season.

Despite Fernandez's hefty transfer fee, he is expected to take up the leadership role in the team, succeeding Ruben Dias as the captain to maintain unity within the locker room.
