Duo arrested after drugs, weapons found in car in Toa Payoh

Police officers came across a stationary car during their patrols at 4 Lorong 7 Toa Payoh.

Two individuals, a man and a woman, were arrested in Toa Payoh on September 4 after police discovered weapons, suspected drugs, and contraband cigarettes in their car. The police were patrolling the area around 11:50 pm when they noticed a stationary vehicle. Inside the car, officers found karambit knives, suspected drugs, drug paraphernalia, duty-unpaid cigarettes, and vaporisers, which were subsequently seized.

The 31-year-old man and the 34-year-old woman were charged with unauthorised possession of weapons and drug-related offences. The latter two allegations have been forwarded to the Central Narcotics Bureau and Singapore Customs, respectively, while the vaporiser offence has been referred to the Health Sciences Authority. According to a witness who provided photographs to the newspaper Shin Min Daily News, he was delivering food when he observed a police patrol car pull up beside the car.

One of the individuals was seen seated on the ground next to a police officer, with various items spread out on the ground behind a police line.
