Cardinals, Rockies players tilt caps a day after umpire Eddings’ comments to St. Louis rookie

The protest came one day after Eddings instructed Cardinals rookie pitcher Hancel Rincon to straighten his hat. The incident occurred after Rincon made his major league debut in relief on Friday night and wore his cap with the brim pointing to the left.

Eddings urged Rincon to straighten his cap, leading to an argument with St. Louis manager Oliver Marmol, resulting in Marmol's ejection from the game. Rincon, a 24-year-old from the Dominican Republic, continued to tilt his cap during the game, celebrating reaching base in some instances. The Cardinals ultimately won the game 7-6 on Friday after Ivan Herrera's three-run homer in the ninth inning.
