Rockies use 6-run 5th inning to beat Cardinals 10-7

On Saturday night, the Colorado Rockies defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 10-7, propelled by a powerful sixth inning that added six runs to the score. Cole Carrigg, the Rockies' first baseman, led the charge with a leadoff single and an additional hit, setting the stage for a six-run fifth inning. Colorado starter Mason Adams, making his third start since his debut on August 25, failed to secure a win, allowing his first career loss.

Brennan Bernardino collected the win, while Jordan Romano secured the final two outs, earning his 15th save. Cardinals' starter Matthew Liberatore dropped his eighth consecutive decision and has gone nine straight starts without a win. He pitched effectively for the first 10 batters before committing two crucial errors, leading to the Rockies' comeback.

With McCarthy and Tovar executing a double steal, followed by a double play, the Rockies took a 4-2 lead into the fifth inning. TJ Rumfield sealed the inning with a double and an RBI double, sealing the victory for Colorado. The Cardinals responded with two runs in the sixth inning, one on Nolan Gorman's RBI double and another on Thomas Saggese's sacrifice fly.

However, Colorado responded with four runs in the seventh inning, including a double from Joshua Baez and a solo home run by Kyle Leahy, to maintain their 10-7 lead.
