25 Passengers Smash Bus Windows To Escape After Bhopal-Bound Bus Catches Fire In Gwalior | VIDEO

On Saturday night in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, a Bhopal-bound bus caught fire, prompting passengers to take desperate measures to escape. The incident occurred at Vivekananda intersection in the Chetakpuri area. As the bus, carrying about 25 passengers, headed towards Bhopal, smoke began to fill the vehicle. The driver and a cleaner alerted the passengers, who immediately smashed the windows to flee the rapidly spreading flames.

The fire intensified as the bus stopped to pick up more passengers, filling the interior with thick smoke and causing widespread panic.

Some passengers managed to flee through the doors, while others climbed or jumped through the broken windows. Thanks to the efforts of bus staff, local residents, and fellow passengers, all 25 people were evacuated safely before the bus was engulfed in flames. During the evacuation, an elderly passenger with a heart condition lost consciousness due to smoke inhalation. Passengers and police personnel performed CPR on him, stabilising his condition. He was subsequently rushed to Jayarogya Hospital for treatment.

The fire brigade arrived at the scene approximately 10 minutes after being alerted and deployed two fire tenders to bring the blaze under control. However, the bus suffered extensive damage. While the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined, initial reports suggest a technical fault or short circuit in the rear section may have triggered the blaze. Ongoing investigations are expected to provide further clarity.
