Third missing teenager’s body recovered at Kota Tinggi beach

KOTA TINGGI - The body of a third missing teenager, 16-year-old Muhammad Adib Hafiy Kamal, has been discovered near Tanjung Siang today, according to Deputy Superintendent Mohd Syamsuri Mohamad of Kota Tinggi. The body was recovered by the search and rescue team and locals at 11:15am, about five kilometers from where the initial incident occurred.

The body was immediately taken to the Crime Scene Control center for identification by the next of kin. Acting Director Mohd Najib Sam of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency confirmed that the victim was positively identified as Muhammad Adib. The body is now being prepared for a post-mortem examination at Kota Tinggi Hospital.

The SAR team will continue searching for the final missing teenager. The search area has been expanded to 103 square nautical miles and is being coordinated by the Johor Bahru Maritime Rescue Sub Centre. Rescue teams are facing challenging weather conditions, including winds of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour and waves between 1.0 and 1.5 meters.

Three other teenagers, Alif Taqiuddin Kamal Hasrul, Muhammad Thaqif Rayyan Rumainoor, and Muhammad Haiman Fitri Supian, all aged 16, have already been recovered. The ongoing operation remains focused on finding the final missing teenager.
