Third missing teenager’s body recovered at Kota Tinggi beach

Kota Tinggi, September 4 — At Madrasah Tahfiz Al-Quran Ar-Redha in Bandar Penawar, Islamic students of the second day in a row recited the azan, Yasin, Dhuha, and hajat prayers, as efforts to find two teenagers missing at Tanjung Lompat Beach continued. Teacher Mohd Azroy Azhar stated that the students took the initiative to offer prayers voluntarily after observing the authorities and the families of the victims' ongoing search.

Azhar expressed hope that the recitation would aid in locating the missing teenagers. "We believe this is a way for these tahfiz children to serve the community. We want to demonstrate that we can overcome any challenge with patience and prayer." Azhar quoted the Quran, which instructs believers to face trials with patience and prayer.

The two teenagers initially reported missing, 16-year-old boys Mohamad Faqrul Isqandar Abdullah and Muhammad Afiq Ruzaini Mazlan, were rescued by citizens around 7:45 am. However, four others, including Muhammad Thaqif Rayyan Rumainoor and Alif Taqiuddin Kamal Hasrul, were later confirmed to have drowned. The Fire and Rescue Department reported receiving an emergency call at 8:19 am about the incident involving six teenagers who had been camping at the beach for three days.

Out of the four teenagers initially missing, Muhammad Adib Hafiy Kamal and Mohamad Haiman Fitri Supian are still unaccounted for.
