Tahfiz students perform prayers to support search for missing teens in Kota Tinggi

KOTA TINGGI, Sept 4 — Students at Madrasah Tahfiz Al-Quran Ar-Redha in Bandar Penawar have been reciting the azan, Yasin, and performing Dhuha and hajat prayers for the past two days, as the search for two teenagers continues who are feared drowned at Tanjung Lompat Beach. Islamic Education teacher Mohd Azroy Azhar reported that the students took it upon themselves to offer these prayers, motivated by the actions of authorities and the families of the missing teens.

They aim to show solidarity and hope in their supplications, believing that Allah SWT provides solutions even in trials. Azhar quoted the Quran, encouraging patience and prayer during hardships. The incident began when a Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 8.19 am on Wednesday about six teenagers who went missing while camping at the beach.

Two of the six, 16-year-old boys Mohamad Faqrul Isqandar Abdullah and Muhammad Afiq Ruzaini Mazlan, were rescued by locals at around 7.45 am. However, four others — including Mohamad Thaqif Rayyan Rumainoor and Alif Taqiuddin Kamal Hasrul — were later confirmed drowned. Among those still missing are Muhammad Adib Hafiy Kamal and Mohamad Haiman Fitri Supian.
