Pemuda DAP tuntut AG semak semula kes DNAA Zahid

Pemuda DAP is demanding that the Attorney-General review the case of Yayasan Akalbudi involving Umno President Zahid Hamidi, following a DNAA (Dibebaskan Tanpa Bebas Ajaran Agama) granted to him in 2023. The DNAA allowed the Police Anti-Corruption Agency (SPRM) to conduct further investigations, as the case was upgraded to a non-prosecution case (NFA) in January. The party argues that national unity should not be used to exempt politicians from standard legal standards, and the same principles should be applied uniformly.

Given the increasing concern surrounding this controversy, the Attorney-General must demonstrate professionalism in utilizing his prosecutorial powers to address and resolve the public's concerns about judicial independence. Pemuda DAP insists that the Attorney-General should demonstrate a commitment to upholding the integrity of the justice system by re-examining the evidence and charges in the Yayasan Akalbudi case.

Zahid Hamidi, who serves as Deputy Prime Minister, was also charged with 47 counts of corruption, misappropriation of funds, and breach of trust related to the Yayasan Akalbudi case. The prosecution stated that the DNAA was granted to enable the Anti-Corruption Agency to carry out further investigations. By the time the DNAA was granted, Zahid and 14 co-defendants had already provided their testimonies. The case was classified as a non-prosecution case (NFA) in January of this year.
