OpenAI is set to release GPT-6 Astra, a major upgrade to both ChatGPT and Codex, with the model described as "the world's most intelligent and aligned model." This new model boasts exceptional proficiency in computer use, browsing, software engineering, cybersecurity, science, and professional work. GPT-6 Astra has achieved outstanding scores on FrontierMath Tier 4, ARC-AGI-3, and ExploitBench, setting new frontiers in computer and browser usage.

Moreover, it is particularly adept at handling complex professional tasks, streamlining workflows, and generating polished documents and presentations.

A significant enhancement to Codex is the ability to preserve and retrieve context when the context window fills, eliminating the need for compaction and ensuring that accumulated details remain searchable. This feature is set to become the default for Astra in the coming weeks. The release of GPT-6 Astra is being rolled out slowly to a limited number of organizations and will subsequently become available to all ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users through the OpenAI API and AWS. It is currently being offered to Daybreak program members.
