Pune: Pimpri Police Book Man After Disabled Wife Alleges Assault & Threat To Kill

Pune police have filed a case against a man following an allegation from his disabled wife, who claims he assaulted her, attempted to disfigure her face, aimed to kill her, and recorded videos of her naked, according to Senior Police Inspector Rupali Bobade. Bobade, who oversees the Pimpri police station, stated that the case was initiated based on the woman's complaint and statement. The suspect has been taken into custody, she added.

The woman, reportedly blind, alleged that her husband assaulted her, disfigured her face, sought to kill her, cut her hair, and recorded naked videos of her. The reason behind cutting her hair remains under investigation, with Bobade noting that the exact motive will be determined as the probe continues.

The woman and the suspect had been married for six years, according to police. They had exchanged garlands in a temple during their wedding ceremony. Both had been previously married, the police confirmed. The couple had been living together for approximately six years before the dispute arose, which had been ongoing for about eight months before the complaint was filed.

Additionally, police are verifying whether the suspect had been previously subjected to externment from the area. The specifics of this externment status are being checked. The allegations against the suspect are yet to be substantiated and are subject to ongoing investigation.
