FRSC inducts 200 special marshals in Abia

On Tuesday, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) inducted 200 new special marshals at the Umuahia Sector Headquarters in Abia State. The ceremony aimed to instill discipline, patriotism, and exceptional service in the new inductees, who were tasked with safeguarding the roads and protecting lives. The State Sector Commander, Ngozi Ezeoma, praised the volunteers for their willingness to join the corps and emphasized the importance of integrity, professionalism, and respect for all road users.

She urged the new marshals to maintain high standards of conduct and collaborate closely with regular marshals to enhance the FRSC's enforcement, public education, and road safety initiatives. Ven. Kingsley Wachi, the State Coordinator, Special Marshals RS 9.3, explained that the Special Marshals volunteer arm of the FRSC plays a crucial role in community engagement and societal impact beyond the traditional realm of road safety administration.

The Commissioner for Transport, Chimezie Ukaegbu, delivered the keynote address, describing the Special Marshal uniform as a symbol of responsibility, highlighting that integrity breeds respect while discipline solidifies authority.
