FRSC inducts 200 special marshals in Abia

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abia State has inducted 200 new special marshals, emphasizing the importance of discipline, patriotism, and exceptional service. During the induction ceremony at the FRSC Sector Headquarters in Umuahia, Sector Commander Ngozi Ezeoma commended the new inductees for their dedication to safer roads and human life preservation.

She urged them to uphold integrity, professionalism, and respect for all road users, stressing that their conduct should reflect the values and objectives of the corps. Ezeoma also encouraged the new marshals to collaborate closely with regular marshals and promote the corps' efforts in road safety initiatives to reduce traffic crashes significantly.

Ven. Kingsley Wachi, the State Coordinator, Special Marshals RS 9.3, explained that the Special Marshals are the legally empowered volunteer arm of the FRSC, with roles extending beyond road safety administration into communities and society at large. Commissioner for Transport, Chimezie Ukaegbu, in his keynote speech, highlighted the significance of discipline, patriotism, and volunteerism in being an effective Special Marshal, emphasizing that integrity earns respect while discipline makes authority worthy.
