Acer’s wild Project DualPlay Mini is a foldable handheld that doubles as a netbook — concept shown alongside Predator Atlas 7 handheld sporting Intel’s Arc G-series chip

Acer unveiled two new handheld devices at the IFA 2026 convention - the larger Predator Atlas 8 and the smaller, concept-only Predator Atlas 7. Both devices feature the Intel Arc G-series SoC and a dual-fan cooling system with an AeroBlade metal fan and a plastic fan.

The Predator Atlas 8 boasts a 7-inch, 1080p display, up to 1TB of PCIe 4.0 storage, and up to 24GB of LPDDR5X-7467 memory. It supports up to an 80Whr battery, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, UHS-II microSD card slot, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual 2W speakers with DTS:X Ultra spatial audio. It weighs under 700 grams and measures 292 x 112.7 - 123 x 28.5 - 48.4mm.

The Predator Atlas 7 follows a similar design with a smaller 7-inch display but is presented as a concept only, meaning Acer has not provided detailed specs. It features a folding design that transforms it into a mini-laptop, complete with a backlit keyboard and the potential to connect to an external display via Thunderbolt 4. The device also includes a Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, and dual microphones.

Acer has decided to celebrate its 50th anniversary by engraving "Acer 50 since 1976" in Morse Code on the back of the handheld. The Atlas 7 is expected to go on sale in North America in Q4 2026, while the Atlas 8 will be available starting in September 2026 in North America and EMEA regions.
