Yankees call out Red Sox radio voice for suggesting beaning for late stolen bases

New York Yankees players have taken issue with Boston Red Sox radio announcer Will Flemming's remarks made during a recent series between the two rival teams. Jazz Chisholm Jr., one of the players, confronted Flemming on Monday following the WEEI radio announcer's disparaging comments towards Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm.

Flemming referred to Chisholm as a "bush league player" after the Yankees led 7-1 in the eighth inning of Sunday's series finale. Chisholm and several teammates also criticized Flemming for proposing that Red Sox pitcher Jovani Moran retaliate against the Yankees by hurling a beanball at catcher Austin Wells.

Chisholm and his teammates argued that "unwritten rules" exist to prevent such actions, emphasizing that the Yankees had similarly pressured the Red Sox to score runs. Chisholm expressed his displeasure with Flemming's comments, stating that his behavior demonstrated a lack of professionalism. Flemming, in response, issued an apology on social media, admitting that his words during the broadcast had crossed a line.

The announcer claimed that his emotional state and passion for the Red Sox led him to use inappropriate language. Flemming emphasized that he meant no disrespect to the Yankees players or organization, and acknowledged that he should have chosen his words more carefully.
