Turaki-led PDP faction endorses G-100 move to defeat APC

The Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party has supported the G-100 initiative aimed at forming an opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections. This endorsement was announced in a statement released by the faction's National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, following a meeting on Monday at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

The G-100 is a group of 100 opposition leaders who will work together to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress candidate in the upcoming election. The PDP faction endorsed this move due to the hardships faced by Nigerians under President Bola Tinubu's administration and the need to unite with other credible political forces to bring about change.

The faction's National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, emphasized that the party's involvement in the G-100 process was based on the principles of transparency, equality, data-driven decisions, and egalitarianism. He stated that any results stemming from this process would provide Nigerians with a credible leader capable of addressing the country's poverty and insecurity issues.

The PDP's participation in the G-100 initiative aligns with its previous stance of collaborating with political parties and organizations seeking to oppose the APC. The faction's involvement marks a further indication of their readiness to contribute to the formation of an all-opposition platform that can take power from the incumbent and rebuild Nigeria for the benefit of all Nigerians.
