Melaka perkenal subsidi selanggara motosikal untuk p-panggilan

Melaka will introduce a special motorcycle subsidy program to assist over 3,000 food delivery riders (p-panggilan) across the state, with a budget allocation expected to be discussed and officially announced in the upcoming Exco meeting. The program aims to provide a 20% to 30% discount on the overall cost of motorcycle maintenance at selected garages.

The Chief Minister, Ab Rauf Yusoh, emphasized that the initiative aligns with the Melaka Cares Citizens (MeSRa) concept, highlighting the government's commitment to valuing food delivery workers who play a crucial role in supporting community life through the digital platform. The program will also involve investigating ways to expand Social Security Organization's (Perkeso) services to food delivery workers, as part of efforts to enhance their protection.

Ab Rauf expressed his own experience as a food delivery worker to better understand the challenges faced by this group in earning a living for their families. The government is also exploring the possibility of registering garages that are approved for this program to collaborate with popular delivery platforms like Grab, Foodpanda, and Shopee.

Additionally, the state is considering implementing a unique address system for rural areas without formal addresses to ensure seamless communication between the government and food delivery systems.
