Maratha Reservation: Manoj Jarange-Patil Refuses Medical Check-Up On Day 4 Of Hunger Strike In Jalna; Govt Delegation To Meet Him Today

Jalna: Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange-Patil, who began his indefinite hunger strike on August 29 at Antarwali Sarati in Jalna district, refused a medical examination on Monday. Doctors reported that Jarange did not respond to repeated requests for a check-up of his blood pressure and other health parameters. The activist's protest has entered its fourth day, causing concern over his well-being.

A medical team arrived at the protest site, attempting to wake Jarange and request the examination, but he reportedly declined. Medical officer Dr Vijay Wakode stated that the team would continue urging Jarange to undergo regular health checks, visiting him every two hours. On the previous day, Jarange's blood pressure was measured at around 130, and his blood sugar at approximately 70.

The Maharashtra government is facing pressure due to Jarange's fast, with the state Cabinet scheduled to meet on Tuesday to discuss his demands. The ongoing agitation and Jarange's requests are expected to be on the agenda during the meeting. The delegation, including BJP MLA Prasad Lad, Ministers Shambhuraj Desai, Uday Samant, and Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, is also set to meet Jarange today.
