Israeli airstrikes kill child, injure others in western Gaza City

On Tuesday, an Israeli airstrike in western Gaza City killed a Palestinian child and injured several others, according to a Safa news agency correspondent. The airstrike targeted the Al-Katiba area, southwest of Gaza City, amid ongoing military operations in the Strip. The correspondent reported that the Israeli bombardment occurred alongside gunfire and explosions in the area, as described by eyewitnesses who also noted the presence of Israeli special forces on the ground.

Israeli quadcopter drones dropped bombs near Al-Katiba, while deploying smoke and stun grenades. Earlier, Israeli forces carried out artillery shelling and gunfire in various locations across the Gaza Strip. The correspondent detailed three people injured by Israeli army fire, including a critically ill girl, in eastern Deir al-Balah.

Additionally, Israeli forces opened fire east of Khan Younis, advanced southeast of Deir al-Balah, and targeted areas near Al-Batoun Street. Artillery fire and naval vessel strikes occurred off the northern coast, while Israeli forces engaged in intense artillery shelling east of Khan Younis and west of Rafah. Palestinian fishermen committees reported that the Israeli navy detained ten fishermen off Gaza City's coast.
