ColorOS 17 Is Coming: Here’s What Changes

ColorOS 17 is the new custom operating system that OPPO, OnePlus, and realme users will soon be able to enjoy. This update brings a fresh look with a redesigned interface, improved navigation, and additional features for a better user experience. The new navigation system includes a floating pill-style pill-bar at the bottom of the screen, making it easier to reach with one hand and giving it greater separation from the rest of the interface.

OPPO is also adding a frosted-glass effect with Contour Glow, which adds lighting and depth to the interface, making it stand out from Apple's Liquid Glass design. This visual change is paired with an upgraded animation system that uses a Luminous Rendering Engine to create smoother, more responsive animations. Another notable addition is Lockscreen Island, which displays ongoing activities like music, calls, and navigation, providing quick access to important information.

The update also introduces improvements in connectivity with Apple's ecosystem, allowing OPPO phones to work with iPhones for calls, notifications, and file sharing through O+ Connect. Performance enhancements include faster app launches, improved RAM management, and smoother animations, resulting in a more seamless and efficient user experience.

The update is expected to roll out to eligible OnePlus and realme devices, gradually moving them towards a shared ColorOS platform.
