POCO X8 Officially Debuts In Malaysia With 8,340mAh Battery

POCO has introduced a range of new smartphones tailored for the Malaysian market, with the X8 model marking the latest addition to the X8 series initially launched earlier in the year. The device boasts a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which displays a resolution of 2,772 x 1,280 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness reaching 3,500 nits.

The phone also includes dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and water/dust resistance ratings of IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K. A standout feature is the new Underwater Mode, allowing users to capture images underwater. Under the hood, the X8 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, complemented by up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The device features an 8,340mAh silicon-carbon battery, supporting 67W wired charging and 22.5W reverse charging. The software operates on Android 16 through HyperOS 3, and connectivity options include WiFi 5, 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC. The camera setup consists of a 50MP main camera accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor, with a 16MP front-facing selfie camera.

Available in three colors - White, Black, and Orange - the POCO X8 is priced at RM1,499 for the 8GB + 256GB version and RM1,699 for the 12GB + 256GB variant in Malaysia. Discounts start from September 9, 2026, reducing the 8GB model to RM1,299 and the 12GB model to RM1,499. The devices are accessible through Mi's online store and the brand's stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
