Trump calls for 'punishment' of NBC reporter

An NBC News spokesperson defended Welker, stating that she is one of the best in the business and that they stand by her. The FCC, currently led by a close associate of Trump, has been criticized for its attempts to pressure broadcasters and reporters to align with the administration's views.
