“They want to kill us”: Emery denies ‘good relationship’ with Chelsea after player trading

Unai Emery has dismissed claims that Aston Villa and Chelsea share a good relationship following a flurry of transfer activity. The Chelsea manager stated that the Premier League rivals engage in "strictly business" transactions, with Chelsea eager to "kill" Villa by acquiring their top talents. Recent transfers include Morgan Rogers leaving Villa for Chelsea in a £117 million record deal, followed by Emir Martinez joining in the opposite direction.

Aston Villa have also brought in Alejandro Garnacho and Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea. Despite the transfers, Emery insisted that the relationship between the two clubs is purely transactional and that Chelsea sees Villa as competition.
