Predicting which players make Jaguars practice squad

The Jacksonville Jaguars have finalized their 53-man roster, but General Manager James Gladstone now faces the task of constructing the practice squad. The majority of the 16 spots on the practice squad will be filled with players who were part of the training camp roster, although the team may also bring in a few outside additions. Here is a prediction of which Jaguars players the GM would like to see return to the practice squad, while leaving some room for external signings.

Quarterback Joey Aguilar demonstrated efficiency during the preseason and delivered significant plays in the passing game. Running back J Mari Taylor maintained a steady performance and was challenging to tackle. Wide receiver Austin Trammell brings experience to the offense and can also contribute on special teams. Tight end Trebor Pena was the most productive receiver during the preseason, displaying his talent as a potential big-play threat.

Tight end Patrick Herbert was part of the practice squad last season and could be developed further by the Jaguars. Offensive tackle Jimto Obidegwu, a developmental player, might be brought back to explore his potential.

Defensive tackle TJ Bollers recorded three quarterback pressures and was on two sacks during the preseason. Linebacker Jack Kiser was cut unexpectedly by the Jaguars, but the team may attempt to re-sign him. Last season, Kiser was a critical special teams contributor and was expected to serve as Foye Oluokun's backup in training camp.

Linebacker Jalen McLeod, a 2025 draft pick, was moved on from but can line up at defensive end and apply pressure on the quarterback. Cornerback Preston Hodge made numerous plays in the passing game during training camp, showcasing his skill in making plays on the ball.

Safety Cam Ron Silmon-Craig was on the practice squad last year and appeared in three games as a special teams contributor.
