USS Abraham Lincoln sails past Singapore on its way home from Middle East

The USS Abraham Lincoln, a formidable U.S. aircraft carrier, sailed past Singapore early Sunday on its return journey from a demanding Middle Eastern deployment. The vessel will make a stop in Thailand for a scheduled port visit.

Reporters on Indonesia's Batam island, situated across the Singapore Strait, observed the massive ship as it passed through waters near Singapore shortly after 1 a.m. local time. The Lincoln, one of the Navy's largest warships, played a pivotal role in supporting U.S. operations against Iran.

During its deployment, the Lincoln achieved an unprecedented record of continuous sea time exceeding 250 days. However, mounting concerns have surfaced regarding the mental well-being of the crew and shortages of essential supplies such as food and hygiene products.

Thai authorities have expressed worries about the extended duration of the Lincoln's deployment. They have noted that mental health issues among the crew members have been reported, along with concerns over supply shortages. As a result, the Lincoln is anticipated to undergo a period of rest and recovery in Thailand before returning to its home base in the United States.
