Zimbabwe crash involving church minibus kills 27

A minibus carrying church attendees collided head-on with a truck in central Zimbabwe on Friday, resulting in at least 27 fatalities according to police reports. The crash took place around 1830 GMT near Chivhu, approximately 140 kilometers south of Harare. The truck, registered overseas, was overtaking another vehicle when the collision occurred.

The minibus, transporting worshippers en route to a conference, was also involved in the accident. Both vehicles carried an unknown number of passengers. Seven individuals sustained injuries in the incident. Footage shared by ZBC, the public broadcaster, depicted the severely damaged minibus and the truck resting on the opposite side of the road.

The crash occurred on a flat, remote stretch of road with sparse vegetation and open terrain beyond.
