Field Marshal Munir witnesses trials of locally manufactured arms, ammunition at ordnance factory

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, paid a visit to Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) in Wah on Saturday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The primary purpose of the visit was to assess the factory's production capabilities, export potential, and contribution to Pakistan's defense industrial sector.

During his tour, the army chief was provided an overview of POF's operations and its critical role in enhancing national defense through the development and production of various military equipment locally. Field Marshal Munir personally witnessed trials of arms and ammunition that were both designed and manufactured within the country.

The trials highlighted the factory's commitment to innovation, self-reliance, and bolstering Pakistan's indigenous defense production. The ISPR also informed that Field Marshal Munir received updates on the corporateization process that commenced upon the implementation of the Defence Industrial Production and Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DIPRA) Ordinance.

He was further informed about ongoing initiatives aimed at indigenization and upgrading existing facilities, including the installation of two new industrial plants that were set to commence production by the end of the year. The visit clearly demonstrated the military's dedication to fostering self-reliance, indigenous production, and technological innovation within Pakistan's defense sector.
