Donald Trump to mark 9/11 at Pentagon, not New York

On the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, President Donald Trump announced he would commemorate the tragedy at the Pentagon, rather than in New York City. The New York Times reported Trump originally planned to speak at Ground Zero, but changed his mind due to restrictions on speeches by the memorial organizers.

When questioned by reporters, Trump repeatedly stated he was "going to the Pentagon." The attacks, carried out by Islamist Al-Qaeda terrorists, killed nearly 3,000 people and resulted in the destruction of the Twin Towers in New York, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and a fourth plane crashing in Pennsylvania. Vice President Kamala Harris, in a statement, confirmed Trump's decision and emphasized that all three sites would be represented by administration officials.

Trump denied the New York Times account on his social media platform, dismissing the report as "Corrupt News" and accusing a journalist of fabricating details.
