Death toll rises to 27 in Kyiv region's Bucha district after strike, secondary blast

In the Bucha district of Kyiv region, the death toll due to a strike on a warehouse and subsequent blast has risen to 27, according to Kyiv Regional Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko. Among the deceased is Taras Didych, the head of the Dmytrivka community. The incident resulted in 42 injuries, including four children.

Tkachenko expressed condolences to the affected families and called for strict punishment of those responsible in a Telegram post. Emergency response and firefighting efforts are ongoing, with structural debris cleared, fires extinguished, and search-and-rescue operations underway. Approximately 381 people, including 59 children, have been evacuated from the emergency zone.

An operational headquarters has been established in Dmytrivka to handle local resident requests, and hot meals and psychological support are available. An assessment of the community's damage is ongoing, with around 50 residential buildings sustaining varying degrees of harm. Temporary housing is available for those affected. Traffic restrictions remain in place on the Kyiv–Chop M-06 highway due to the ongoing situation.
