Ben Johnson believes Bears RB D'Andre Swift is primed for a 'big year'

Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson is confident that running back D Andre Swift will have a breakout season in 2026. Throughout the 2025 campaign, Swift showcased remarkable statistics, setting career highs in total yards (1,087), yards-per-attempt (4.9), and yards-per-game (67.9), while also boasting the highest rushing success rate (54.7%) of his career. Pro Football Focus awarded him an impressive 81.0 grade, placing him among the top 10 backs in the league.

Johnson attributes Swift's progress to the improved chemistry between the running back and the offensive line, as well as the guidance provided by offensive coordinator Mike Studesville. Swift's performance in his first year with the Bears improved significantly from his rookie season with the Philadelphia Eagles, and he formed a formidable backfield duo with Kyle Monangai, which resulted in games being won by the duo.

Johnson believes that Swift's vision and reads have significantly improved, making him primed for an even bigger year next season.
