Anwar extends Malaysia’s condolences to Norway on passing of King Harald V

On August 29, Malaysia's Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim conveyed the nation's condolences to Norway following the death of their former monarch King Harald V. Anwar highlighted the significance of King Harald's recognition of Norway's multicultural society, acknowledging its diverse population including individuals from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Poland and beyond.

He emphasized that King Harald's perspective reinforced the notion that a nation’s strength lies in the dignity it bestows upon all its citizens. Anwar's statement, posted on his Facebook page, underscored the importance of King Harald's commitment to his duties and the value of honoring such commitments. The Prime Minister expressed Malaysia's solidarity with Norway in their grief over the passing of the former King.

King Harald V, who had been hospitalized since August 17, passed away at the age of 89 at Oslo's National Hospital after receiving cortisone treatment for hemolytic anemia.
