Power without trust becomes greed, warns Selangor Sultan

Shah Alam, on August 28th, Selangor's Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah cautioned Muslims against breaking trust, warning that it could erode public trust and weaken society's well-being. In a Facebook post by the Selangor Royal Office, the Ruler emphasized that those responsible for managing the Muslim community's assets and interests, especially public funds, carry a grave duty before Allah.

The Sultan urged everyone to fulfill their responsibilities honestly, no matter how minor, stating that trust and integrity are crucial for genuine prosperity and independence. "Handling public funds with integrity is a testament to our love for the community and the nation. Don't let funds intended for people's benefit be misused for personal gain," said the Ruler.

Sultan Sharafuddin also stressed that those guilty of breach of trust must face punishment, while those who uphold trust should be supported, and systems must continually be improved. The Sultan expressed concern that while people endure hardships, some continue to benefit from wealth gained through betrayed trust and manipulated justice, highlighting how power driven by greed rather than trust leads to injustice.

He reminded Muslims that those guilty of injustice will not escape divine judgment. The Sultan warned that signs of the end times are becoming more evident, such as assigning responsibilities to the unqualified and abusing positions of trust for personal gain. Earlier, the Sultan participated in a Yasin recital, prayers, and tahlil in connection with the state-level 69th National Day celebration at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque. Selangor's Raja Muda, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, was also present.
