Guru, Ayyankali championed humanity, social justice: CM Satheesan

Chief Minister V D Satheesan hailed the social reformers Sree Narayana Guru and Ayyankali as the greatest revolutionaries Kerala has ever seen, marking their birth anniversaries on social media. Satheesan praised Guru for not only conveying a message but also living it out, emphasizing that humanity and love for fellow human beings were the foundation of Guru's ideas.

He highlighted Ayyankali's relentless fight against caste discrimination and for the rights of oppressed sections, inspiring society to realize that education was the path to social progress. Pinarayi Vijayan, the Leader of Opposition, echoed these sentiments, stating that Guru transformed Kerala's social life by declaring that humanity was the only caste of man.

He noted that Guru fought against caste-based inequalities and economic exploitation, calling on socially backward sections to organize, become strong, and gain enlightenment through education. Vijayan also emphasized that Guru's vision of a society where people lived as brothers, transcending caste and religious divisions, remains relevant even as divisive politics threaten secularism and democratic values.
