Army raids Boko Haram/ISWAP camp in Adamawa, kills 21

On Wednesday, the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser Tactical Team, carried out a raid on a Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist camp located in the Kopre Mountain area of Hong Local Government Area in Adamawa State. The operation, carried out at dawn, was prompted by reliable intelligence about the terrorist activities in the region.

According to the military, two separate engagements took place between the troops of Operation Hadin Kai and the terrorists, resulting in the neutralization of over 21 militants. The others managed to escape with gunshot injuries. In a statement posted on X on Thursday, the military revealed that the terrorists' logistical infrastructure was destroyed, and a significant amount of weapons and ammunition were recovered.

These included several AK-47 rifles, magazines, and a large quantity of 7.62mm ammunition. In addition, motorcycles, bicycles, and jerrycans filled with Premium Motor Spirit were also destroyed during the operation. The Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Captain Mohammed Goni, stated that the mission also aimed to rescue victims abducted from the Mussa community and the Lassa area.

He emphasized that the Joint Task Force (North East), under Operation Hadin Kai, remained committed to aggressive, intelligence-driven operations focused on locating and rescuing abducted individuals, dismantling terrorist strongholds, and degrading their logistics and combat capabilities. The military high command commended the troops and the Office of the National Security Adviser Tactical Team for their bravery, professionalism, resilience, and seamless coordination during the operation.

This success highlighted the forces' capability to project combat power in challenging environments and deny terrorists freedom of action.
