Anwar akan rujuk surat Saravanan kepada SPRM

Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim has stated that the former Human Resources Minister, M Saravanan, should be referred to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) regarding the corruption allegations against him. Anwar mentioned that he has not yet received a letter from Saravanan's successor in MIC, but will forward it to SPRM for further action once received.

He added that it's not his concern, and he will refer the matter to SPRM, the state attorney, for investigation. Anwar emphasized the need for the investigation to continue and for the prosecution to proceed. He refused to make any statements until the court decides on the matter. Earlier, Saravanan confessed his innocence in a court hearing against three charges of receiving RM1.097 million in bribes related to the approval of foreign labor quotas.

The Tanah Raja MP then confirmed that he wrote a letter to Anwar regarding these charges, but denied requesting the Prime Minister's intervention to close the case. Saravanan stated that instead, he seeks a thorough investigation into his situation, while insisting the charges against him are baseless.
