2027 budget to provide funds for Form Six allowances, says Anwar

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that the 2027 federal budget will include an allowance for Form Six students, during a meeting in Bukit Mertajam. The exact amount of the allocation has yet to be determined and will be based on the government's financial capacity at the time. This decision comes after Anwar had previously mentioned the possibility of extending monthly allowances to Form Six students, who currently receive the same payments as matriculation students.

During a meet-the-people session in Bukit Mertajam, Anwar stated that Form Six students currently have no allowances, unlike those provided from Year One to Form Five and at the university level. He emphasized the need for this allowance, announcing its inclusion in the October budget.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek confirmed that the proposed allowance is one of 12 resolutions discussed at a pre-university congress held in Klang. The ministry has accepted all the resolutions proposed by student delegates and is currently reviewing them to identify ways to improve them, while also exploring implementation methods.
