Asobo Studio used the soundtrack from A Plague Tale: Requiem during Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy mocap to help the cast 'get into the sadder moments, the darker moments'

During the motion-capture process for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Asobo Studio utilized the soundtrack from A Plague Tale: Requiem to help the cast immerse themselves in the emotional and darker scenes. The game's lead level designer, Valérian Robert, along with lead writer Carol Ann Bañuls and the protagonist's actor, Anna Demetriou, shared insights into their design process during an interview with TechRadar Gaming at Gamescom.

Anna Demetriou revealed that the cast listened to A Plague Tale: Requiem's music to enter the right mindset for emotionally charged moments. She emphasized, "We would be playing the Requiem soundtrack to help us get into the sadder moments, the darker moments." This practice created an authentic atmosphere in the motion-capture room, keeping the essence of the Plague Tale DNA alive.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy features a distinctive Greek soundtrack composed by Olivier Derivière, which significantly differs from the previous games. The soundtrack pays homage to the game's new setting on the Greek island of Crete, incorporating Greek cultural elements. Anna Demetriou expressed her excitement upon hearing the music, stating, "I was sat on my laptop for the day, just listening to it all, just being like, I can't wait to play it because I haven't connected what we've done with this with the music yet."

Lead writer Bañuls also highlighted Olivier Derivière's use of choir vocals, aiming for a more authentic feel that matches the historical context. Lead level designer Robert explained that the music is seamlessly integrated into the game's new gameplay systems and combat mechanics. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
