Demetriou expressed that playing Sophia felt natural and close to her, as she had already delved into her backstory.

This was a unique experience as the original writer of Sophia's character in Requiem was not involved in the development of Resonance. Instead, they collaborated with Carol Ann Bañuls, with whom she had a strong working relationship. Demetriou appreciated the opportunity to blend her understanding of the character with the new perspectives brought by Bañuls.

Dedeine discussed the challenges of being a prequel, acknowledging that they needed to avoid disappointing fans who were accustomed to the previous games. To accomplish this, they aimed to introduce fresh elements while preserving the essence and tone of the series. One significant change was the removal of the iconic swarms of rats, replaced by a sinister and dynamic new force.
