SP Promises ₹40,000 Annual Aid For Women Under 'Stree Samman Samriddhi Yojana' Ahead Of UP Polls | VIDEO

With the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections approaching, the Samajwadi Party (SP) has unveiled a financial assistance scheme called ‘Stree Samman Samriddhi Yojana,’ promising to pay women Rs 40,000 annually if the party secures victory in the polls. The announcement was made by SP leader and MP Dimple Yadav, who stated that the scheme was designed to boost women's economic independence and overall well-being.

The party plans to disclose further details about eligibility, application procedures, and other conditions in due course. SP President Akhilesh Yadav emphasized that the progress of society cannot be complete without advancing women, and his government has consistently prioritized women’s dignity, security, and economic empowerment.

Akhilesh reiterated the SP government’s commitment to women’s issues, mentioning past initiatives such as providing laptops to students to facilitate technology access. He also pledged to consider laptop distribution for girls who pass Class 12, if the party returns to power. Akhilesh criticized the BJP for reducing women to a mere political slogan and demanded the implementation of women’s reservation in the next election.

He also focused on women’s safety, mobility, and access to public transport, proposing free Metro travel for female students and better facilities for women across the state.
