AstraZeneca Vietnam upgrades logistics system to support growing operations

AstraZeneca Vietnam has modernized its logistics system to better handle its expanding operations in the country, according to a recent report. The Ministry of Health has officially suspended the pharmaceutical business license for the company's previous logistics facility in Ho Chi Minh City, a move requested by AstraZeneca Vietnam itself.

This change is part of a broader strategy to upgrade infrastructure and prepare for the delivery of innovative medicines and advanced therapies to patients in a secure, reliable, and timely manner.

The new logistics system is specifically designed to improve the storage, preservation, and distribution of medicines, adhering to contemporary technical standards. It includes expanded storage capacity, increased warehouse space to meet the demand for specialized therapeutic products, enhanced storage standards, and optimized supply chains.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Luong Phong, director of Corporate Affairs at AstraZeneca Vietnam, emphasized that this infrastructure upgrade represents a significant step in the company's commitment to enhancing operational capabilities, addressing the diverse healthcare needs of patients, and contributing to the sustainable growth of the healthcare system in Vietnam.

AstraZeneca Vietnam confirms that the revocation of the pharmaceutical business license is merely a technical step in the logistics transition process and does not impact the company's dedication to supplying medicines in Vietnam. The company remains committed to working closely with healthcare partners and regulatory bodies to ensure a smooth transition, in full compliance with Vietnamese laws and regulations.

Looking ahead, AstraZeneca Vietnam is focused on fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration to advance access to cutting-edge therapies and strengthen healthcare capacity in the country. The company is exploring potential partnerships with the Ministry of Health to develop innovative healthcare financing solutions that can improve resource efficiency and broaden access to treatment for patients.
