On the 27th, nine out of ten South Korean nationals isolated in Nepal due to an avalanche and flooding have been safely transported to a secure area. During a conversation with Nepalese Foreign Minister Mr. Kiran, Foreign Ministry Secretary Hyeon, the Ministry emphasized the urgency of rescuing and securing the safety of the remaining nine South Korean nationals.

The Ministry conveyed its deep concern for the nine missing South Koreans and requested the Nepalese government's proactive support and attention in the search and rescue efforts. Among those still present on the ground are a South Korean official from Samsung Real Estate and two representatives from the embassy. The local personnel working on the ground stated that they would leave once all Korean nationals were rescued.

There are still fifteen local staff members remaining on the ground. Foreign Minister Hyeon requested during the afternoon call with Mr. Kiran that the Nepalese government show proactive interest and support in the search and rescue of South Korean nationals affected by the flooding. Hyeon expressed heartfelt condolences to the affected South Koreans and their families, and confirmed that the Ministry will provide 100 million USD (approximately 13.8 billion KRW) in humanitarian aid through international organizations operating in Nepal to support the speedy response and early recovery efforts of the Nepalese government.

The Foreign Ministry stressed the urgent situation of the nine missing South Koreans, and requested the Nepalese government's exceptional attention and support for their safe search and rescue. Following a meeting held on the day by President Jeonceol, the Ministry confirmed that the South Korean Emergency Assistance Team will arrive in Nepal promptly and work closely with local authorities to ensure the smooth search and rescue operation for the South Korean nationals. The Ministry also urged Nepal to actively cooperate in the search and rescue efforts.
