Theme park operator told to explain roller-coaster incident

A recent roller-coaster incident at a theme park in Subang Jaya resulted in 10 people being injured, prompting the Subang division of Umno and Barisan Nasional to demand an explanation from the park's operator. The park's chief, Armand Azha Abu Hanifah, urged management to provide details on the incident, including the immediate actions taken to assist the victims.

The safety of visitors, particularly children, families, and tourists, is paramount, according to Armand. The incident was revealed through a video shared on social media, showing a woman being carried down stairs on a stretcher after the event. Police confirmed that 10 individuals between the ages of 11 and 44, comprising Malaysian citizens and foreign tourists, were injured and treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the injuries remains undisclosed. Armand called for a thorough and independent investigation into the ride's safety records, maintenance, and adherence to operating procedures, as well as a suspension of the ride's operations until its safety is confirmed. If any negligence or violation of procedures is found, those responsible must face appropriate consequences, regardless of their status or position.

Armand also stressed the importance of an investigation to expose or refute any attempts to conceal the facts surrounding the incident, emphasizing that the priority is public safety, the victims' right to redress, and the public's right to know the truth.
