SPRM teliti maklumat progam tanam semula sawit Felda Palong 7

The Securities and Arbitration Division of Malaysia (SPRM) is investigating information received concerning a reproduction program and restoration of oil palm at Felda Palong 7, located in Raja Alih District, Negeri Sembilan. According to a statement, the information was obtained from the Chairman of Palong Generation Body Corporation (Perbagi), Mohd Syahrizal Md Yusuf, regarding concerns and questions about seed quality for the program.

The information pertains to a development program that reportedly benefits around 450 farmers, including issues related to training, transportation, storage, duration, and adherence to specifications of the oil palm seeds provided. SPRM is taking the concerns and issues raised into account and will investigate the information to determine whether any element may be related to an offense under its jurisdiction.

SPRM also expresses concern about a request for a technical aspect related to seed quality and specification compliance to be reviewed by the relevant technical agency. According to SPRM, any further action will be determined based on the findings of the investigation and the information received.

Meanwhile, Sinar Harian reported that a group of new-generation Felda Palong 7 farmers, led by Syahrizal, visited SPRM's headquarters in Putrajaya to lodge a complaint and hand over the information related to the program. Syahrizal stated that the development and restoration of the oil palm plantation is estimated to cost between RM70 million to RM80 million. He urged SPRM to investigate the issues related to seed preparation, training costs, transportation expenses, and the implementation of the restoration program.
