MACC examines oil palm seedling concerns at FELDA Palong 7

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is investigating information related to oil palm seedlings and a development and replanting programme at FELDA Palong 7 in Negeri Sembilan. The allegations were submitted by the PERBAGI chairman, Mohd Syahrizal Md Yusuf, concerning the supply, delivery, storage, and age of the seedlings, as well as their compliance with required specifications.

The commission is evaluating the information to ascertain if any elements may be linked to offences under its jurisdiction. Additionally, the MACC has requested that technical agencies examine the technical aspects of the seedlings, including their quality and adherence to specifications. The commission has clarified that the receipt of this information does not imply any individual or party has been found guilty of an offence.

The MACC's review is expected to determine whether further action is warranted, while technical assessments will confirm if the supplied seedlings met the required quality and specification standards. This development follows Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's call for comprehensive examination of weaknesses and problems in FELDA's management, emphasizing the need for appropriate action to rectify any identified issues and strengthen the agency's governance and management.
