Felda forensic audit proposal to go before Cabinet, says Anwar

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced that the proposal for a forensic audit on Felda will be presented to the Cabinet for consideration. The matter is expected to be discussed during a Cabinet meeting. This comes after Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi called for the forensic audit, citing various allegations against Felda, including abuse of power and governance failures.

Zahid stated that the audit should determine the reasons for Felda's losses and identify responsible parties. He also expressed openness to the formation of a royal commission of inquiry, provided it does not aim to persecute or humiliate individuals. If substantial evidence emerges against specific individuals, they should be held accountable.

Previously, Anwar had claimed that Felda was suffering from nearly RM10 billion in losses due to mismanagement and excessive political interference. He also mentioned that a special task force report on Felda's issues and inherited problems would be released soon.
