Eid-el-Maulud: Natasha urges Muslims to promote peace, compassion

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has called upon Muslims in Nigeria to embrace peace, compassion, unity and peaceful coexistence during the Eid-el-Maulud celebrations. In a goodwill message, the lawmaker from Kogi Central Senatorial District emphasized the importance of reflecting on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his emphasis on compassion, justice, humility, peace and love for humanity.

She urged Muslims to not only engage in festivities but also to renew their commitment to values that can strengthen the country amid its social and economic challenges. Akpoti-Uduaghan further urged Muslims to sustain the tradition of peaceful coexistence among various communities and religious groups in Kogi Central, and to continue to be ambassadors of peace, tolerance and unity.

She appealed to Muslim leaders, parents, and youths to promote moral discipline, peaceful dialogue, compassion for the less privileged, and responsible citizenship. The senator stressed the need to support vulnerable members of society and rejected religious intolerance, hatred, violence and divisive rhetoric.
