Dan Stevens to Lead Prime Video’s ‘RoboCop’

Dan Stevens will take on the lead role in Prime Video's new "RoboCop" series, reprising the iconic role of Alex Murphy/RoboCop. Peter Ocko, the showrunner, writer, and executive producer, is bringing a modern reimagining of the 1987 film to the streaming platform. The series follows a massive tech company convincing the city to integrate a powerful robotic police force, with the robot embodying the consciousness of a deceased officer.

Ocko will share executive production duties with the likes of James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett, who are on board through Blumhouse Atomic Monster. Danielle Bozzone serves as a co-executive producer, representing Prime Video in the project. Renowned screenwriters Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner, who penned the original "RoboCop" screenplay, are also executive producers for the series.

The eight-episode series is set to debut soon, with Stevens joining the cast just a month after the show secured its Prime Video order. Stevens, known for his roles in "The Guest," "Downtown Abbey," "Beauty and the Beast," "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," "Cuckoo," "Zero Day," and "The Boy and the Heron," has a busy few months ahead.

He is set to work with director Adam Wingard on the upcoming "Onslaught," which releases through A24 on September 4, and Lauren Miller Rogen's film "Babies," which will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Stevens is represented by CAA, Julian Belfrage Associates, and the Peikoff Mahan Law Office.
