Dan Stevens To Star In RoboCop Series For Prime Video

In a thrilling twist, Dan Stevens, known for his roles in Downton Abbey and Legion, is set to don the metallic suit and become the iconic RoboCop for Prime Video's adaptation of the beloved film franchise. Peter Ocko, who previously worked on Lodge 49 and Pushing Daises, is the writer, showrunner, and executive producer for the new series.

The project, based on the original RoboCop film by Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner, will feature Stevens as the late officer Alex Murphy, who is resurrected as a powerful robot to serve the city's police force. The show, which will consist of eight episodes, is an adaptation of the 1987 film directed by Paul Verhoeven and will star Stevens as Murphy, his robotic alter ego, RoboCop.

The original RoboCop movie, which brought Weller to fame, is considered a classic of the action genre, spawning two sequels, a TV series, an animated series, and a 2014 reboot. Fans will be eager to see how Stevens brings this legendary character to life in the streaming era.
